THIS DOES NOT CONTAIN OPINIONS. Just a highly improbable possibility that neither of the main loons win the presidency. First, neither candidate could get a majority, that way the vote goes to the House. Then, relatively little-known conservative independent candidate !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has to win Utah - becoming the first Independent candidate to win electoral votes since 1968 - which isn’t unlikely. Then, the House recognizes that neither Turd Sandwich nor Giant Douche are good choices and votes McMullin into the presidency. It would be highly unlikely, and probably not the most democratic (in the governmental structure sense) thing to do, but we can all hope. I, for one, would sure as hell take a misrepresentation of the people’s choice over the two poor choices they’ve already made.

And then President McMullin gives the Delaware River Valley back to Sweden.

That does sound like the best outcome!

I wish McMullin made it farther.

Going with the Giant Douche on this one though.

His timing was unfortunate. If I could vote I couldn’t bring myself to vote for either of them honestly. I’d probably write in McMullin or Rubio.

McMullin supports overturning Roe v. Wade . [37]

Or nah.

At least he’s ready to move past  Obergefeld v. Hodges . As for abortion I’m personally against it but I’d rather not get into it here.

If McMullin won, Gary Johnson would probably actually commit suicide.

Fivethirtyeight had an article about this a while ago, and it actually doubled his polling numbers.

Though we’re taking an extreme chance, given that there’s little reason for the house to favor McMullin over Hilary.

For most of the house yeah but the fact is most people in this country are settling on someone they really don’t want.

Favorability ratings are unprecedentedly low, yeah. Trump is at about a 38% and Clinton is about 40%, whereas Obama and Romney were both about 50%.

What’s this “we” business? Trump is doing what thousands of hard-right conservative voters have wanted to do for a long time, except he’s doing it in public and they’re backing their man. To his credit, he has never been accused of deleting 30,000 or so emails, or for setting up a private server to circumvent federal records laws.

Hillary was on this path since 2008. It was inevitable she would run for president. Obama’s win set her campaign in stone. To her credit she has never bankrupted multiple companies, or advocated for banning the immigration of individuals based on their religion, or denigrated an entire race of people, or ran a for-profit scam labeled as a university. She had the decency to call her pay-to-play political outfit a foundation.

There were so many other choices though, pretty much any of them better than these two.

I mean, I was sure Trump would be off the GOP ticket in months, but then the reasonable choices started dropping, but Trump was still there. Rubio had a chance - young, attractive, family man. I don’t think Bernie would have done well against Rubio, but I would have liked to have seen it.

He doesn’t just need electoral votes. He needs votes and neither trump or Clinton to hit 270. I think both candidates have good chances at 270 even without Utah.

That said, I posted the 538 article on Facebook to see if others would be amused as me, after I saw that McMullin was surging yesterday. I kind of want him to win, not because I agree with his policies, but because I want to see everyone mad.

Rubio was ended up being too much of establishment candidate in the eyes of most, at least from what I’ve heard. I honestly really liked Ted Cruz’s fetishism (?) of the Constitution and a lot of the stuff he proposed, but his congressional record is not great. Jeb Bush I don’t like, because of Common Core among other things. Ben Carson was kind of just along for the ride, and John Kasich was sort of just there.

That’s fine, but you can’t say Trump and Hillary are sketchy or scummy if you have no problem with Goldman Sachs, and you definitely shouldn’t have a problem with the Clintons using their political power for financial gain. If you like what GS stands for, you might as well vote for Clinton.

It doesn’t concern me in the sense that’s how the world works one way or another at that level. I have other concerns with them as candidates.

Doesn’t bother me at all, but I don’t think an unmarried man would have a chance at the presidency. Family values and all that. Plus I can’t imagine we would do well with the whole “who is the president dating?” thing.

Kinja'd!!! wiffleballtony > Party-vi

I don’t think family values really matter at this point. Also, someone would want TV rights to who the president is dating.
